Spongy (Gypsy) Moth
Gypsy Moth Control
Gypsy moth populations have historically been managed using biological, chemical, and non-chemical methods. Biological controls introduce natural predators or disease; non-chemical controls focus on capture/removal; chemical controls include targeted sprays or injections when appropriate.
In recent years, Montgomery County has seen increased activity. Statewide suppression programs vary by year; when no program is active, property owners are responsible for management on their land.
